Bio
Every time I read someone's biography written in third person, I wonder who wrote it. Some are very proper and professional (was it Adweek?), others a bit more "this is a perfect person with a perfect everything" (was it their moms?). Some are more passionate, as if they could have been written by a first-time lover or a very proud alter ego.
This is my own "third person autobiography":
Lucas is one of those Brazilians who doesn't like soccer and doesn't know how to samba, but at least, like most Brazilians, he is very bold and isn't afraid of changes. When he was 15, he participated in a one-year exchange program in India, where he learned a lot about people, different cultures, and the need to adapt while staying true to his essence. In India (the first time he was out of his country in his life), he discovered he wished to see the world, not just by traveling but also by living in different countries.
He went back to Brazil, finished school, and started studying Psychology and Advertising simultaneously. His creative side spoke louder, and he chose to focus entirely on advertising. In the beginning of his second year in college, he got his first internship and has never stopped working in Art Direction.
Two years after college, to keep up with his dreams of living around the world, he decided to move to Buenos Aires and study Art Direction at one of its most awarded schools: Brother Buenos Aires. While at Brother, he got the internship of his life at Santo Buenos Aires (yes, those guys). After four years living and working in Buenos Aires, he moved to Chile.
In Chile, his first job was at Publicis Chile, where he had the opportunity to be a part of the Young Lions competition and win it, allowing him to go to the Cannes Festival to represent Chile. It was his first time in Europe. He is still in love with the Festival, Europe, and everything related to it. After Publicis, he got a great opportunity at Grey Chile, where he started working actively for the local, regional, and global councils side by side with great talent, with whom he won some awards (Cannes, El Ojo, Achap, Wpped Cream) and was also awarded to see and be a part of LIA (London International Awards) as a young talent.
When the need for new challenges grew even bigger, he went "small", joining one of Chile's most important independent agencies: Agencia Porta. When Porta won the pitch for Santander Bank, he was promoted to be its Senior Art Director, leading a team of Art Directors and Designers while working even closer with his Creative Director, clients, and all other teams in the agency. He was a very important piece in Santander's visual and creative communication refresh in Chile.
After almost two and a half years working at Porta with Santander Bank and the Chilean Red Cross, and winning awards at Effie Chile, Ad Stars, Wina, Caples, PHNX, FIAP, Achap, and Luum, he felt he had completed a cycle and wanted to work within a big network once again. He returned to Publicis Chile, where he participated in a few pitches and worked on the Visa account that the agency had recently won. After only eight months, he received an offer to move to Budapest, Hungary, to work at Saatchi & Saatchi Budapest.
In April 2022, he started working with NIVEA. He worked for almost half a year on the Always-on campaigns for its global social media (mainly Instagram and TikTok), and after that, while still working with NIVEA, he shifted his focus from Always-on to Precision Marketing for Emerging Markets. He worked closely on a daily basis with the Publicis One Touch teams from Brazil, South Africa, Dubai, and Thailand.
He still doesn't know how to dance (although he tries a lot more now). He speaks fluent Portuguese, English, and Spanish, and has a funny accent in all of them. He can proudly say that his Hungarian is a "10" (he knows about ten words by now).
If you want to know more about him, his dog, his work, or just see him struggling with his poor Hungarian pronunciation, let him know at: lsgondim@gmail.com
